
Asbestos Training For Non-Licensed Works

This training course is for people who intend to work with asbestos that does not normally require a license. It incorporates the training requirements set out in the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) L143 and Health & Safety Guidence (HSG) 210 The asbestos task manual.
This course has been designed to comply with the latest Health and Safety Requirements regarding training for unlicensed works.
Why remove Non-Licensable Asbestos Containing Materials?
Surely it is not safe for us to do it?
Wrong. With the correct equipment, training, insurance and attitude you can undertake many simple and low risk asbestos removal tasks.
So how do I do it?
The Health and Safety Executive have recently re-classified some of the lower risk ACM’s as ‘Non-Licensable’. What this means to you is that as long as operatives and supervisors have completed an appropriate 1-day training course, they can work with these types of materials.
More Services that you can offer
For many companies this is a valuable additional services to their normal activities.
For example the building or maintenance contractor that otherwise would have to employ another Licensed contractors to deal with simple tasks such as -
- removal of Toilet Cisterns,
- removal of Floor Tiles,
- removal of Cement products (e.g. roof sheets, down pipes and gutters, soffits and cladding), etc.
Other tasks covered by this course may include -
fire alarm engineers installing sensors on an AIB suspended ceiling tile,
plumbers drilling small holes in Artex ceilings to run pipes through,
electricians accessing fuse-boxes with asbestos flash-arresters, etc.
All of these tasks and more are possible to be completed both legally and safely after this training.
Also bear in mind the possible increase in revenues that you may recover by doing it yourself. Every penny counts in this economic climate!

This course is aimed at anyone in a trade or industry who will work on asbestos products that does not require a license, specifically, builders, electricians, plumbers, carpenters, painters and decorators, telecom engineers, alarm installers, maintenance staff, engineers and any who needs to complete works on asbestos containing materials.
